Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development for our Federal Civilian Group. You will be responsible for leading a team of business development experts focused on driving a market-leading pipeline of new business opportunities. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing a market strategy to expand our already significant footprint in the State and Local, Education, Personnel Vetting & Security markets that includes various State and Local Government accounts and the Department of Education.

The Senior Director Business of Development has overall responsibility for new business generation and ensures that we win our re-competes. You will serve as the Business Development Team Lead and business partner for the Federal Civilian Sector. This position provides an outstanding opportunity to play a leadership role as we work together to create the Next GDIT and apply the breadth of resources available in our new organization to critical technology and mission challenges. The breadth of our portfolio and the scale of our $10B company ensure that you can take on new challenges and new roles as our business and mission-impact expands.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain high quality relationships with customers and partners, including next generation technology vendors.
  • Provide critical leadership to help shape opportunities and our position throughout the opportunity life cycle.
  • Formulate and support the communication and implementation of an integrated business development, capture and proposal strategy that clearly highlights GDIT’s value proposition and discriminators, and provides customers a clear and defensible justification for selecting GDIT for award.
  • Establish value added teaming strategies and competitive pricing structures to create a profitable return at a winning cost.
  • Develop marketing strategies and provide input into market account plans with assigned account BD and P&L leaders that align with the company's strategic plan.
  • Gain knowledge with all deals in the pipeline, ensuring that the pipeline is aligned with the strategic and operational goals of the Sector, and combine the two sides (BD and delivery) to create significant synergies.  
  • Ensure that the pipeline data is accurate and up to date.
  • Facilitate and participate in the generation of a qualified pipeline to fulfill the demands of the VP/GM’s plan for the current as well as future years.
  • Identify new opportunities to capturing and winning new business, and assist the team with the development and execution of account plans/go-to-market strategies, etc.
  • Work on his or her own pursuits within the area of his or her expertise. The Sector Growth Lead will focus on key deals within the Sector and actively contribute to the success of these pursuits.

Job Requirements

  • 15 or more years of hands-on experience in Federal Sales, Business Development and Strategic Capture Experience leading a team of business development and/or capture assets
  • Extensive background developing business focused on IT Services, Lifecycle SW development, ERP solutions, and federal civilian mission focused program support offerings
  • Experience with Federal Civilian budget, investments and acquisition processes
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, and be a strong team player who fosters collaboration
  • US Citizenship
