Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

Provides export compliance support to the Johnson Space Center (JSC) Export Administrator (CEA) as a member of the JSC Export Services Team (EST). This position specializes in NASA engineering technology exports and requires the analyst to assist members of JSC’s Directorate of Engineering with export compliance processing.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prepares documentation for export transactions.
  2. Maintains applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements and NASA policies and directives.
  3. Assures trade compliance for the export of hardware, software, technical data, and for the performance of technical assistance and defense services provided to international parties.
  4. Maintains current knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  5. Participates in special projects as required.

Job Requirements

SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES

  1. Basic understanding of the practices, procedures, and processes involved in export control compliance.
  2. Basic understanding of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  3. Intermediate-level skill in analysis and determination of export jurisdictions and classifications of commodities.
  4. Effective administrative and organizational skills.
  5. Effective communication skills.
