Job Description

GDIT seeks a candidate to serve as a Program Advisor at Department of State headquarters to assist in mitigating global biological threats by minimimizing the access of terrorists and other nefarious actors to biological expertise, materials and equipment that could be used to conduct biological attacks.

The candidate will assist BEP work primarily in the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, leveraging technical resources and experts from a network of U.S. government agencies, universities, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations to meet its core objectives. The candidate will also have responbility for both programmatic and functional portfolios. On the programmatic side, the candidate will develop, implement and coordinate priority efforts in advancing U.S. counter-WMD policies and other proliferation threats. On the functional side, candidate responsibilities will include a variety of policy and financial areas, such as interagency and office budget-related efforts following close collaboration with U.S. stakeholders, foreign counterparts and technical and policy experts

• The candidate must possess outstanding communication, diplomacy, team work, project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. (Prior experience in biosecurity, chemical security, cybersecurity, and emerging and advanced technologies (e.g. drones, synthetic biology) is strongly preferred, but not required).

• The candidate must possess a Masters' degree.

• International travel will be required and foreign language skills are a plus.

• The candidate must possess an active DoD security clearnace
