Job Description

Communications Analyst

Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains server configurations (hardware and software) to ensure their confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Manages accounts, firewalls, and patches. Responsible for access control, passwords, and account creation and administration. Responsible for setting up and maintaining a system or specific components of a system (e.g. for example, installing, configuring, and updating hardware and software; establishing and managing user accounts; overseeing or conducting backup and recovery tasks; implementing operational and technical security controls; and adhering to organizational security policies and procedures).

Produces cyber communications to provide collaboration across Agency teams and external customers

Facilitates information sharing between government and industry (incl. telecommunications and information technology) efforts for the protection of critical communications infrastructure from malicious cyber activity

Facilitates DHS efforts to formalize partnerships with governmental and private sector cyber incident or emergency response teams to accept, triage, and collaboratively respond to cascading impacts in an efficient manner

Coordinates national-level cybersecurity information sharing consistent with the National Response Framework (NRF)

Coordinates incident response efforts with industry association, government agency, and Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) partners, including identifying Intelligence Community (IC) reporting and supporting the creation of formal and informal RFIs to obtain additional tear-lines/request for information for use to support the incident response process

Assists in the preparation of communications to inform DHS leadership of emerging threats and associated response activities in the form of briefings, leadership awareness notices, or other communications channels

Provides classified and unclassified cyber risk briefings and activity updates to Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CIKR) community stakeholders (including private industry)

Gathers information relevant for the NCCIC Directors brief and build a slide deck every evening for the following day for HIRT specific incidents and outreach efforts

This position could be deployed in the field on-site at a DHS customer to support/perform incident response or cyber hunt activities if the need arises.

Additional Requirements:

This position could possibly be designated as critical to agency operations and may be required to be deployed as part of an Emergency Relocation Group (ERG) in conjunction with COOP deployment or emergency activation team.

Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility is required. In addition, must be able to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated DHS background investigation for continued employment

Certifications: One or more of the following Certification(s): CAP, PMP, GSLC, CISM, or CISSP is preferred.

Job Requirements
