Heres an opportunity to work for the US Air Forces most storied and advanced Distributed Training operation in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Winner of numerous US Air Force and US Department of Defense training awards over the last 18 years, the Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) Center (DMOC) at Kirtland AFB, NM is the Air Forces primary hub for distributed combat training exercises, testing and experimentation. Through the DMOC, warfighters at locations around the globe face realistic environments to practice tactics and procedures in highly-realistic training environments. The DMOC architecture integrates synthetic (virtual and/or constructive) simulations across various networks to support a battlespace that accurately models adversary and friendly weapons and weapons systems, focusing on Command, Control, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance systems. Integrating live, virtual and constructive (LVC) elements, the DMOC is a major contributor to the US Air Forces Operational Training Infrastructure (OTI). The DMOC paves the way to bridge the gap for fifth generation training in air, space, and cyber domains. We are looking for an innovative and forward-thinking Computer Security Engineer Lead to help us support and standardize state-of-the-art training venues. The DMOC is on the verge of moving the Air Force to the next level of advanced distributed training, and the skills we are searching for include:

Primary Duties

  1. Manages the functionality and compliance of computer systems running on one or more operating systems.
  2. Coordinates with system administration to ensure the integrity and security of servers and systems.
  3. Coordinates with system administration to develop and maintain system security documentation.
  4. Coordinates with system administration to ensure proper backup and recovery of systems and data.
  5. Monitors security policies and standards for compliance.
  6. Primary SPLUNK administrator and developer.
  7. Management of COMSEC account and materials.
  8. Develops and implements monitoring strategies and documents results.
  9. Provides security guidance and leadership to staff members.
  10. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  11. Participates in special projects as required.

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline with at least 5 years of information security experience, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

Qualifications:

5 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.

Security+ certification

Top Secret security clearance with SCI and SAP/SAR eligibility.

 

Additional skills:

Knowledge / familiarity with SPLUNK SPL (Search Processing Language) desired

Familiarity with scripting in multi-platform Linux and Windows environments preferred (PowerShell, Python, or equivalent)
