Contracts Expert, Strategic Opportunity Support Services

As we build an organization to lean into the accelerated growth of the new GDIT, the Strategic Opportunity Support Services team is seeking to add to our dedicated team support by adding a contracts professional that is well-versed in regulations and requirements with an expertise in complicated contract issues across multiple Federal/Commercial/State/Local bodies of knowledge. This position would focus on supporting GDIT proposals, programs, and advisory services as a part of the Strategic Opportunity Support Services Contracts Team. This individual will be highly experienced in providing Contracts expertise in dispute resolutions, ability to apply strategic resolutions to address business and programmatic issues, as well as identifying & analyzing complex and high-risk contract matters. This position requires a significantly diverse agile mindset with contractual knowledge to provide dedicated support across all Divisions.

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.

  1. Advanced degree and/or Professional certification (e.g., CPCM/CFCM) preferred.
  2. 15+ years of related experience in contracts and subcontracts administration and/or procurement.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Administers contracts and/or subcontracts, including negotiation, correspondence, documentation, certification, financial reporting, and product delivery for major contracts.
  2. Independently negotiates complex contract terms from proposal stage to project close-out in accordance with relevant regulations (including in person with the customer).
  3. Coordinates approval of negotiations, contracts, and subcontracts with appropriate management staff.
  4. Provides expert advice and interpretation of contract requirements.
  5. Reviews solicitation requests and GDIT proposal volumes to identify risk areas and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  6. Comprehensive participant on proposal team which includes pricing and scheduling strategy, coordination of requirements, and advance understanding of proposal risk assessment.
  7. Major contributor to program reviews, status briefings and customer interaction whenever the contracting office is involved.
  8. Coordinates and communicates with program directors, vice presidents and all matrixed organizations to ensure contract requirements are fulfilled.
  9. Provides guidance and work leadership to less experienced contract administrators, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
  10. Maintains heightened knowledge of relevant industry and changing contractual procedures and practices.
  11. Viewed as SME on proposal and program strategy
  12. Actively maintains an extensive network with industry peers, business teams, and acquisition leadership across GDIT/business areas.
  13. Develops training material and leads training events for staff and/or other business teams
  14. Leads special projects as required.
  15. Operates independently to resolve issues within CAMO and across other support areas and business division staff.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Advanced knowledge of the practices, procedures, and processes involved in contracts administration and proposal activities.
  2. Advanced knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, terms, conditions, and policies governing assigned contracts, including FAR and applicable Agency Supplements, and CAS.
  3. Advanced administrative and organizational skills.
  4. Advanced communication skills to independently correspond orally and in writing to company and customer leadership.
  5. Advanced ability to operate and negotiate independently
