Job Description

Tracks, coordinates, and documents training and educational programs for GDIT personnel. Coordinates Medical Credentialing of GDIT personnel to ensure effective operations, compliance with government regulations, and that all affiliated employed or contracted physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and allied health specialists are appropriately credentialed with licensing agencies and medical treatment facilities. Responsible for credentialing tasks including data collection, data entry, online and telephone verifications. Must have professional demeanor. Self-motivated, attention to detail, excellent critical thinking skills, strong vocabulary skills, and accurate typing are essential job functions. Previous credentialing experience required. Medical Terminology and previous medical staff office experience a plus.

  • Coordinate and participate in the credentialing process with DoD and VA medical treatment facilities, including annual audits.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboratively work with Credentialing Manager, Program Manager, and employees to complete occupational health requirements.
  • Manage and use commercial software for credentialing documentation.
  • Develop reports for various site program managers and staff to discuss issues, obtain feedback and disseminate information regarding credentialing issues.
  • Manage credentialing activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with NCQA and Joint Commission standards
  • Oversee and manage the primary source process
  • Support and participate in various credentialing activities, such as annual audits, to ensure accuracy and compliance with NCQA, Joint Commission, and URAC standards and defined policies/regulations.
  • Oversee and manage the primary source license verification process for designated health care providers who render beneficiary care or service to a healthcare organization.
  • Manage and use commercial software for training and credentialing documentation.

Job Requirements

  • 2-5 years of related health care administration or related field.
  • 1 years’ experience with credentialing preferred.
