Job Description

GDIT's Military Health Solutions is hiring a Data Analyst in support of the Defense & Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) located at their HQ in Silver Spring, MD. As the traumatic brain injury (TBI) Pathway of Care manager within the Military Health System (MHS), the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) promotes state-of-the-science care from point-of-injury to reintegration for service members, veterans, and their families to prevent and mitigate consequences of mild to severe TBI.

The Data Analyst will possess knowledge of applying analytic methodologies and principles to assessment DVBIC programs, supports analyst functions including data collection, interviewing, data modeling, project testing, and creation of performance measurements to support project objectives and conduct activities in support of project team’s objectives and works closely with program analysts and program leads.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting statistical data.
  • Maintaining knowledge of software applications and systems utilized by research administrators and knowledge of the DoD research portfolio management process
  • Accessing data sets relevant to DoD and VA health policy, including public use data sets.
  • Running basic statistical analyses using a standard statistical software package. Analyze, interpret and present multivariate statistics, such as regression.
  • Thinking creatively to develop and implement innovative policies and practices that effect change and to identify strategies to successfully implement policies.
  • Maintaining working experience with models for strategic alignment; example is the Balance Scorecard.
  • Understanding of the complex systems for delivery of health care services, including facilities, workforce, technology, and the incentives at work in these systems.
  • Ability to Understand and critique the research design/methods of different types of applied policy analyses, including program evaluations, cost benefit/cost effectiveness studies, and forecasting/simulation models.
  • Working collaboratively with decision-makers, stakeholders, and colleagues with a variety of viewpoints to achieve policy goals.
  • Providing administrative /analytical support to the DVBIC’s Mission Support Office.

Job Requirements

  • 0+ required, 4+ years in related experience preferred.
  • Experience interpreting statistical data.
  • Experience with location, assessment , use and synthesis of information relevant to key issues in health policy, including evidence related to the legislative, regulatory and judicial processes, peer-reviewed literature, and the “gray literature” produced by think tanks, research organizations, and government agencies.
  • US Citizenship is required based on customer requirements.
