Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking highly motivated technical professionals who are eager to play a major role in IT transformation at Government agencies in the aviation and other transportation fields.

This is a telework position. Onsite support will be required as requested by customer.

The Database Management Specialist manages the design, development, implementation and administration of databases.

The Database Management Specialist will perform as follows:

  • Manages the development of data base projects
  • Plans, designs, codes, tests and implements databases
  • Writes queries to explore and analyze source data and data issues
  • Analyzes database applications/queries and implements improvements to optimize performance
  • Administers and troubleshoots databases
  • Performs data modeling
  • Reviews work products and documentation to insure compliance with established controls and procedures
  • Monitors and communicates service delivery performance metrics with the program team, customers and senior management
  • Develops project plans and manages efforts to integrate new products, services and methods
  • Participates in special projects as required

Job Requirements

1) 8 – 10 years of database management experience

2) Significant hands-on experience designing and programming databases

3) Significant hands-on experience with SQL Server

4) Extensive knowledge of relational database
