Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Aggressively pursue and qualify new opportunities within the COCOMs and Defense Agencies addressable market space that yield new incremental profitable growth. The COCOM and Defense Agencies BD Executive leads capture efforts to secure new or re-compete contracts, or task order business within GDIT's Defense Division. The BD Executive develops strategy including business solution for pursuit of opportunities; responsible for building and maintaining the business area’s pipeline, identifies potential customers, competitive assessments, teaming suppliers, participates in bid and proposal activities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Serves as the BD Lead for assigned territories
  2. Identifies and qualifies opportunities for new business.
  3. Shape new opportunities/capabilities that competitively position GDIT’s solutions/services portfolio.
  4. Increase P-Win on targeted new business/recompete opportunities
  5. Leverage value-added solutions into new adjacent markets
  6. Identify strategic teaming / channel partners that enhance P-Win and leverage GDIT’s offerings.
  7. Supports lifecycle Capture Management efforts, including new business and re-competes.
  8. Proactively lead customer prospecting and engagements to gain insight, influence and shape recompete/new opportunities
  9. Understand competitive playing field in each market to determine greatest advantage to Joint-COCOM in providing winning solutions and optimizing critical resources to pursue new business
  10. Focus/link customer engagements, solutions offerings, and opportunities to marketing campaigns

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinates and exchanges information and leads with line managers and other personnel.
  2. Researches public domain material to develop leads, contacts, call plans and coordinate with DSD BI/CI.
  3. Supports the development of capture plans, proposals, solutions, plans of action, business plans, and marketing materials.
  4. Develops marketing strategies that align with Joint-COCOM campaigns and new strategic initiatives
  5. Maintains current knowledge of relevant solutions/services in order to successfully meet client requirements.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work/military experience.
  2. 14 years of related marketing and business development experience.
  3. Proven track record of success in identifying, qualifying, and closing significant new business.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Advanced knowledge of the practices and procedures of business development, sales and marketing.
  2. Knowledge of relevant markets, products and services.
  3. Effective communication and team-building skills.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: (10% Travel Required to support assigned Markets/Territories)
