Job Description

Prepares and maintains blueprints, maps, charts, graphs, and other technical drawings

General Responsibilities

  • Prepares drawings of simple, easily visualized structures, systems, parts or equipment from sketches or marked-up prints.
  • Selects appropriate drawing sheet templates based upon contract deliverable requirements.
  • Familiar with all tools of the trade (AutoCAD program, rulers, scales, compass, divider, calculator etc.) and has a basic knowledge of drafting standards.
  • From marked-up prints, revises the original drawings of Electrical, Electronic, Structural or Mechanical system drawings from known parameters.
  • From sketches, draws Electrical, Electronic Block Wiring Diagrams and Wire Connection Sheets, Space Arrangements, Foundation Details, Heating/Ventilation/Piping Details determining size and layout on drawing sheet.
  • Participates in Site Visits to gather technical data for drawing development.
  • Calculates Weight and Moments changes as a result of drawing.
  • Revises drawings to reflect As-Installed Conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Some knowledge of Government and Commercial Design and Drafting requirements.
  • Computer literacy, including use of word-processing.
  • Some knowledge of Designing and Drafting Software.
  • Basic oral and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to sustain keen attention to detail.
