GDIT has an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Technician with TROJAN/PROPHET experience. Must have a current and active TS/SCI. The TROJAN/PROPHET Electronics Technician performs all aspects of troubleshooting and repair to service TROJAN V1, TROJAN T-LITE, TROJAN SPIRIT, PROPHET, PROPHET ENCHANCED, iDIRECT SAT MODEM and 5650 SAT MODEM systems.  There are TROJAN/PROPHET requirements throughout multiple locations in SWA in austere environments. TROJAN/PROPHET Technicians may be required to rotate between or go TDY to multiple locations within SWA.
 

Perform complex technical functions such as set up, operation, maintenance, modification, circuit testing, calibration and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment to support engineering activities.  Computer systems, sensor systems, SATCOM systems, optics, LAN and data communications, configuration and maintenance of servers, routers, switches, multiplexers, workstations and peripherals. Performs inspections of system components, preventive maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of modules and circuit cards to the component level.

Equipment, products or product performance to validate, investigate and resolve matters of significance.

Conducts engineering/development tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in general research work.

Constructs, monitors, adjusts, calibrates, maintains and/or repairs equipment, instruments and fixtures.

Prepares materials, components and assemblies for evaluation and recommends modifications as needed.

Writes or interprets engineering change orders, blueprints, diagrams, sketches photographs or other process and product documentation as they relate to assigned duties. Prepares reports, charts and graphs for scientific or engineering personnel to use in making decisions on design or experiment development.

Assists in the development of process control manuals/documentation for repairing, calibrating and maintaining equipment and systems.

Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.


Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision. Must demonstrate the ability demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a cohesive team as well as to work independently and be able to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner. Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and have strong attention to detail. Must possess excellent writing and verbal skills. Qualified candidate must have a “Top Secret SCI” clearance and be proficient with Microsoft Windows operating systems and office automation software and all other taskings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS or equivalent + 0 yrs experience or 4 years’ experience
  • Current and active Top Secret SCI Clearance
  • Medically able to successfully complete CRC and deploy
  • US passport must not expire for at least 2 more years and must have at least 4 blank pages in it

Strong background with SAT COMM systems

Military background working with SAT COMM Systems.
