Job Description

The Enterprise Security Architect will lead the development, implementation and integration of security architectures and frameworks across the Federal Agency’s IT ecosystem. Responsibilities include:

  • Performs and leads enterprise security and cybersecurity architecture design, implementation and integration, in coordination with contract team members and Government leadership/stakeholders
  • Leads and designs enterprise security and cybersecurity architectures, frameworks and solutions by evaluating and understanding all the critical security needs of the IT ecosystem taking into account known and emerging enterprise security threats, trends and patterns
  • Develops and leads enterprise security architectural roadmaps, designs, standards and detailed specifications for the Federal Agency’s IT environment including integrated cloud services per industry standards
  • Determines enterprise security needs through analyzing Customer/IT ecosystem security requirements, review and research of enterprise/cybersecurity standards and trends, risks and vulnerability analyses and assessments, review of enterprise security architecture and platforms
  • Well versed in current and emerging security threats and trends and has the skills, experience, and know-how to identify security architecture capabilities and design security architecture patterns to mitigate threats.
  • Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.
  • Ensures the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by technical enforcement of organizational security policies, through monitoring of vulnerability scanning devices.
  • Performs periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance.
  • Prepares white papers, reports and review documentations for management
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Job Requirements

  • 10-15 years of related experience in enterprise security/cybersecurity architecture design
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role in a Federal Government contract environment (contract value of $50 - $100M)
  • Significant experience leading and designing enterprise security/cybersecurity architectures, frameworks and solutions
  •  Overall background and in-depth understanding of security engineering, network engineering, systems engineering, enterprise architecture, infrastructure services and enterprise integration
  • Knowledge and demonstrated hands-on experience with the following technologies: Identity and Access Management; Cloud Security; Active Directory, ADFS; Network Infrastructure (firewalls, switches, routers, etc.); and core network technologies such as TCP/IP, SNMP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, SMTP, LDAP
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with network (LAN and WAN), storage/backup, platforms (Windows/Linux servers and desktop), virtual platforms, and various security technologies
  • Demonstrated progressively responsible experience in leading information security teams with emphasis in managing all engineering, design, implementation, operations and maintenance, and deployment activities
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage repeatable processes and procedures, requiring ops team to develop documentation in accordance with Sponsor's project management framework
  • Hands-on experience with creating the engineering design/architecture and implementation for multi-tier IT disciplines: network, storage, backup, platforms, middleware, application, monitoring, and information security
  • Familiarity with widely-used tools for implementing and testing security infrastructures
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
