Job Requirements

8+ years of experince are required for this position.

Field Engineer to support a position in Northern Virginia (Herndon).  30-40% CONUS / OCONUS travel is required for this position.  Travel to conflict/war zones is required.

The Field Engineer will deploy, install, and maintain servers, routers, switches, telecommunications systems, UPS systems, and desktop PC hardware in support of customer operations. This is a fast-paced program that requires someone who works well in a dynamic environment. 


The Field Engineer is responsible for procedural input to the planning, preparation, and execution of all projects.  Must have the ability to complete complex assignments without direction and direct those engineers that are more junior.  Ensures that systems are implemented in a tight time frame. Additional Field Engineer duties shall include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Evaluate sites for the installation of equipment
  • Install applicable equipment (with racks if needed)
  • Perform onsite testing of equipment and coordinate with other engineers
  • Install and connect applicable cables 
  • Coordinate pick-up and delivery of equipment 
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues




  • 5-8+ years as an engineer supporting technical programs
  • Experience in IP Related Services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, and SIP (Desired)
  • Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches (Desired)
  • Experience with UPS systems and AC/DC power systems, to include installation/connection (Desired)
  • Working knowledge of CAT 5 and CAT 6 cable, connectors, and demonstrated capability of fabricating required equipment
  • Experience using Remedy, VISIO, and MS Office


  • Experience in satellite communication systems is a plus.
