Position Description
The Full Stack Developer provides frontend and backend development support for the Portal team on the EPC contract. The successful candidate will also provide best practices to design single-page architecture (SPA) applications and micro services using cutting edge and open source technologies including J2EE, Node.JS, RESTful, HTML5, JavaScript, and AWS technologies. The individual will work in an agile environment to support short sprints and rapid delivery of releases.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing state-of-the-art systems that enhance the existing commercial and in-house developed software by adding web-services’ capabilities
  • Responsible for developing RESTful services which will be hosted on AWS
  • Responsible for writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
  • Designs and implements low-latency, high-availability, and high-performance applications that adhere to security and data protection requirements
  • Facilitates and leads troubleshooting activities, including debugging backend micro services and related issues.
  • Participate in the full application lifecycle using Agile methodologies
  • Actively collaborate with the cross functional teams such as Requirements, Testing and Infrastructure Teams
  • Pro-actively participate in daily development activities, be able to estimate detail design and development efforts, and adhere to development timelines specified by the schedule
  • Perform training and support development activities     
  • Utilize/promote best practices, including reusable code

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 4 years of hands-on experience developing RESTful services, using NodeJS or J2EE
  • 4 years of experience with JavaScript and JavaScript related utilities
  • 4 years of experience with distributed version control systems such as GitLab/GitHub/BitBucket
  • 3 years of experience with front end frameworks and backend micro services
  • 3 years of experience in designing, developing, testing, and integrating micro services into large applications
  • 2 years of experience with build/SCM tools: Maven, Gradle, NPM
  • 2 years of experience with Agile development methodologies, Scrum and Kanban       
  • 2 years of experience with JIRA, managing Agile sprints and backlog
  • 2 years of experience with Relational databases (Mysql; Postgres), related caching APIs (Redis; Varnish), and Docker


Desired Education and Experience

  • US citizen or a Green Card holder
  • Health Care Industry or CMS experience
  • AWS certification
  • 1 year of experience with Angular5 or higher
  • 1 year of experience with Unix/Linux
  • Experience with continuous delivery and integration tools: Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc.
  • Experience with support tools such as: ServiceNow; Confluence; ALM
  • 2 years of experience writing build scripts using Python, Unix Shell (bash,ksh) or perl
  • 2 years of experience with unit, and end-to-end testing
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics to management and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to integrate information from multiple sources
  • Ability to work independently and interact regularly with government and non-government stakeholders at multiple levels of authority
  • Works well as a team member in a fast-paced and often time-sensitive environment
