Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking highly motivated technical professionals who are eager to play a major role in IT transformation at Government agencies in the aviation and other transportation fields.

The IT Knowledge Manager reports to the Service Center Manager and will perform the following:

  • Owns and manages the Knowledge Base keeping it current
  • Develops and maintains the Knowledge Management Plan
  • Leads and coordinates all internal and external Knowledge Management activities
  • Leads and coordinates new knowledge creation
  • Manages, updates, and maintains all Knowledge Articles within the Knowledge Base
  • Monitors Knowledge Articles for content, spelling, grammar, duplication and appropriate titling
  • Reviews service tickets or root cause analyses resolution information to identify new knowledge (i.e. new/updated resolution steps, new solutions, enhanced procedures, etc.); updates the Knowledge Base with the new knowledge; and shares the new knowledge with applicable program team members
  • Develops processes to capture, document, store (in the Knowledge Base), and share tacit and explicit knowledge
  • Continually identifies program internal and external subject matter experts and works with them to capture, store (in the Knowledge Base) and share knowledge
  • Coordinates with program leadership to develop strategies that promote knowledge creation and sharing across the program
  • Leads and supports knowledge management reporting - creation, usage, Knowledge Base update
  • Coordinates knowledge creations and updates with the training team

Job Requirements

1) 3+ years IT Knowledge Management experience

2) 3+ years IT Service Delivery and Management experience

3) Desired certification: ITILv3, HDI, PMP
