Job Description

The IT Strategic Planning Lead is responsible for aligning IT with the business on the delivery of GDIT’s strategic priorities. It will do this by building strategic capabilities, enabling transformational efforts, embedding quality in all systems and processes and delivering a seamless customer experience.

The IT Strategic Planning Lead is directly responsible for translating the GDIT IT Strategy into actionable projects, programs, and portfolios in close collaboration with the IT PMO and IT Governance leadership.

Reporting to the Director of IT Governance and Strategic Planning, the IT Strategic Planning Lead will work closely within the IT organization to establish and sustain partnerships across GDIT business divisions to promote the execution of the GDIT IT Strategy.

Responsibilities:


• Ensure the IT Strategy transformation maturity rate is aligned across all impacted organizations; serve as an independent integrator throughout the transformation with continuous focus on project prioritization
• Lead the Strategic Planning process; assist the GDIT CIO in guiding the organization through a rapidly changing environment with focus on continuous improvement
• Support the development and evaluation of business cases aligned with the IT strategy
• Support the overall organizational change strategy to drive the IT strategy within the IT organization and with overall GDIT stakeholders
• Provide leadership in the establishment of a change strategy to enable the IT strategy transformation at GDIT ensuring behaviors change to reflect awareness, adoption, and evangelism of IT strategy and associated portfolios/programs/projects and technologies
• Collaborate with communications leadership to support the establishment of a communications strategy to drive the IT strategy transformation at GDIT
• Track strategic initiatives against set goals leveraging defined tool sets to monitor progress against the achievement of the goals; collaborate with stakeholders to resolve impediments to achieving the goals
• Promote strategic thinking, analysis, and approach throughout the organization

Job Requirements

1. Minimum of ten (10) years demonstrated experience in successfully executing against an IT strategy to drive the transformation and maturation of an organization and its capabilities
2. Ten (10) years of experience leveraging and applying a defined process improvement approach (e.g. CMMI) to integrate IT strategy
3. Five (5) years of experience briefing and communication with executive level leadership with demonstrated experience in successfully gaining and sustaining trust with leadership at all levels
4. Five (5) years of experience with translating IT Strategy into actionable projects aligning the changes required with achieve business goals
5. Five (5) years of experience implementing the process to record metrics against the success of achieving set goals within the IT Strategy and plan/implement continuous improvement leveraging those metrics to mature the organization
