Job Description

GDIT currently provides Tier 1 support to the VACO customer base responding to Helpdesk tickets. On a daily basis, GDIT provides managed services and helpdesk support though other contracts with the Veterans Administration.  The ideal candidate will work under general direction, providing technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Primary responsibilities and duties will include


  • Researching and performing analyses of complex system requirements and capabilities and providing solutions
  • Providing follow-up service to end-users to ensure that service provided has addressed their needs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensuring that proper documentation is available to support the Microsoft Exchange 2010 environment
  • Ensuring that proper documentation is available to support the Microsoft Office 365 environment
  • Ensuring that proper documentation is available to support the Skype environment
  • Independently determining and developing approaches to solutions
  • Server and system administration
  • Resolution of spillage incidents

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010 system administration
  • Microsoft Office 365 experience
  • Experience working with Active Directory
  • Microsoft Lync/Skype for business system administration
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance for persons in a position of public trust conducted by the VA/OPM

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with COOP and Disaster Recovery requirements
  • Knowledge of Remedy ticket tracking system
  • Understanding of and experience with government support environment
  • Ability to work overtime required on occasion
  • Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time
  • Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and technical documentation skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
