Job Description

Mission Statement: Tests, implements, deploys, maintains, reviews and administers the infrastructure hardware and software that are required to effectively manage the computer network defense (CND) service provider network resources. Monitors network to actively remediate unauthorized activities with in the CND infrastructure environment.

This position will be working with in our CND infrastructure environment providing but not limited to System Administration to our Linux Red Hat and CentOS environment
System Administration experience primarily supporting  Linux based systems including security related activities to secure and harden Linux environments.

The Red Hat Linux Administrator provides support, implementation and design services for Unix systems.
LInux Environment patching using YUM and Red Hat Satellite servers
Assist Engineering with new solutions through research and collaboration with other team members and determines appropriate course of action for new initiatives.
Implements new technology levels and projects as required.
Hands-on experience with SELinux
Managing and Maintaining RHEL Servers
Linux Virtual Machines and Virtualization Concepts

Ensure all information systems adhere to IA policy, procedures and structure to develop, implement, and maintain a secure information system
Moderate Scripting experience in one or more of; perl, python or BASH
Basic experience administering and Automating Linux Systems Scripting experience in Powershell/BASH Programming and Automation experience utilizing Ruby/Python Network 
Moderate Splunk Enterprise 6.x / 7.x proficiency with a focus on backend maintenance of a multi-server architecture deployment. This includes both Enterprise Security and ITSI.
Proficiency in creating custom Splunk Knowledge Objects for program-defined requirements.

Review and implement application specific hardening guides and or DISA STIGs on a as needed basis to best meet security needs. Review and update Information System Security Plans (SSP), POAM, Scans, STIGs, SSAA, SRGs, etc.

Experience administering a Linux Environment via BASH scripting or other automation front-ends such as Ansible or Puppet.

Access Control (NAC) experience: Cisco ICE 
Firewall experience: Cisco ASA, Cisco IOS FW, Palo Alto 
Network TAP/SPAN aggregators: Cisco Nexus with Data Broker, Gigamon, Ixia 
Virtualization experience: VMware ESXi and Red Hat KVM - Open Shift
SPLUNK Experience
Splunk Certified Power user
Experience developing custom solutions using a Python backend for Splunk apps
Enterprise Security
Syslog-ng Experience

Job Requirements

5-8 years of related systems engineering experience.
