We are seeking a Project Manager to support our Justice Programs team in Fairmont, West Virginia. In this position, you will support the FBI Communications Support Unit.  Our Project Manager leads our team through the challenges of engineering, integration, deployment and ongoing operations of the FBI’s nationwide communications infrastructure. 

Project Management responsibilities include forecasting, resource planning, assembling and leading project teams, time management, budget, quality, and risk management, progress monitoring and reporting, and documentation. The project manager is the senior on site team manager responsible for managing our employees and customer relationship.  The successful candidate will lead our solution implementation and process improvement initiatives.  In addition, the project manager will work with our program team and participate in the development of program deliverables and program documentation not limited to the following:

  • Program Management Plan
  • Portfolio forecasts and project plans
  • Installation Plans
  • System Design Documents
  • Interface Control Documents
  • Operations & Maintenance Manuals
  • Privileged User Manuals
  • Test and Evaluation Master Plans
  • Risk Management Plan and Risk Register
  • Test Reports
  • Hardware and Software Requirements Specifications
  • As-built drawings in Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Word
  • Preparation or modification of processes and procedures for the administration, maintenance, and operations

Configuration / Change Management Support: Responsibilities include participation with the Government Configuration and Change Manager for asset, license and lifecycle management. This includes preparation of documentation necessary for implementation of system changes, and tracking and management of license and warranty expirations.

Resource Development: Employees on this program are required to maintain up-to-date knowledge for both tools and operating systems as new versions are approved for use in the FBI’s environment. It is the responsibility of the project manager to evaluate program requirements in comparison to resource capabilities and recommend and encourage training and development plans.

Corporate: The Project Manager’s corporate responsibilities include support for GDIT leadership initiatives, preparation and presentation of periodic program reviews, participation in business development efforts, contribution to program contractual and financial management, and facilitation of corporate compliance across the program.  The Project Manager also manages the program personnel for matters such as hiring, performance management, and time keeping.

Job Requirements

Knowledge and experience in the following areas is desired:

  • Audio/Visual Technology
  • Network transport communications including Voice, Video, Instant Messaging (IM), Presence, desktop and content sharing, Unified Messaging (UM), UC federation, VTC neighboring and encrypted or unencrypted Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) network connectivity
  • Server and network monitoring procedures and tools
  • VTC, Telephony, Streaming Video and Digital Signage systems
  • Cisco Video Communications Server (VCS) Controller, VCS Expressway, Cisco endpoints, and Cisco Multi-point Control Units (MCU)
  • SharePoint administration

8-10 years of related experience, including supervisory experience.
