Job Description

Designs and defines information technology (IT) system architecture for integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise. Determines systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards. Assists in the development of and manages an architecture governance process. Develops and recommends corrective actions. May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.

Job Requirements


  • Conduct a systematic review of the networking infrastructure to support wired and wireless networks,
  • Assess current state: Define assessment scope and objectives; define research approach including goal, key questions, methodology and sample; gather and analyze quantitative data; conduct research to understand user behaviors, motivations and experiences; assess OCIO and DOE strategy, operating model, current user experience and current performance; and assess the DOE technology and technology strategy.
  • Distill insights: Summarize findings from research; categorize observations into strengths, areas for improvement, and untapped opportunities; identify themes and group them into relevant clusters; develop and prioritize list of insights in mission and non-mission impacts.
  • Identify areas of opportunity: Based on the insights, identify opportunity areas to explore further. Identify investments required to transform and grow capabilities and to innovate.
