Job Description

Design and implement computer and information such as Storage Area Network environments.

Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning, including analysis of capacity needs for network infrastructures. Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Utilize strong technical skills as they relate to numerous systems and storage technologies including, but not limited to: NetApp, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, Exchange Server 2007/2010, Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012, DC's/DNS, DFS, Active Directory, DHCP, Wave, IIS, VMware vSphere 5, ESXi 5, Cisco UCS/Nexus, Infoblox, SCCM, Hyper-V.

Provide in-depth analysis and technical support of systems, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support. Provide operating systems planning and evaluation for performance analysis, capacity planning and hardware upgrades. Use Windows and Unix/Linux shell scripting, including PowerShell and Perl, knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture, TCP/IP, firewall/VLAN configuration, hardware-based load balancing, encryption, and network security best practices. Configure NetApp SAN environment and implement NAS protocols and use applications in a VM and NetApp Fibre Channel/SAN environment. Utilize NFS, CIFS, SAN, TCP/IP, RAID, LUN Management.

Perform systems management and integration functions, improve existing computer systems, and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitations. May analyze or recommend commercially available software. May also design network and computer security measures.

Serves as subject matter expert, possessing in-depth knowledge of a particular area, such as business, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or the various sciences. Provides technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation. Participates as needed in all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation phases. Applies principles, methods and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific task order requirements, advanced mathematical principles and methods to exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems in engineering and other scientific applications to arrive at automated solutions.

Supports technical design/architecture, systems management and maintenance of Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure, DNS, WINS, and Group Policy for enterprise desktop systems, servers, and applications. Performs systems engineering and Tier III Support of a multi-forest/multi-domain Active Directory structure spanning more than 20 sites. Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Perform systems management and integration functions, improve existing computer systems, and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitations. May analyze or recommend commercially available software.

Design and implement computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks. Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning, including analysis of capacity needs for network infrastructures. May also design network and computer security measures. May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software. Analyzing the results of security scans, independent of EIMA and EIMA-provided scan data, and ensuring that appropriate System Administrators apply security patches and/or make changes to the security configuration of the system as required. Providing scan analysis, independent of EIMA and EIMA-provided scan data, of all assets as needed to support and validate IAVM and STIG compliance. Providing status update reports detailing IAVM and STIG compliance. Addressing any vulnerability findings identified as a result of DISA Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI) assistance visits in the DISA Vulnerability Management System (VMS) according to severity level. Developing and implementing information assurance/security standards and procedures.

Performing analyzing, designing, and developing security features for system architectures. Install, configure, and maintain an organization's local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers. Perform System monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems. Review System and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups. Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access. Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses. May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.

Job Requirements

Minimum Experience Required:

 

  • Ten (10) years’ experience with storage disciplines and protocols to include comprehensive knowledge of tasks that include designing, planning, and setting up applications and storage in a Unix/Linux and Windows NetApp SAN environment (disk layout, RAID levels, etc.) to ensure performance and data availability.
  • IAT Level III baseline certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, (or achieve within six months of TOA or iring)

Security Clearance: Secret clearance required at time of hire based upon a SSBI or SSBI-PR completed within the past five years.
