Job Description

The Health & Civilian Solutions Division of GDIT is hiring for a Project Control Analyst in Springfield, VA to perform financial analysis and reporting in order to monitor finances associated with business operations for a major program.  The Project Control Analyst will be located at the DOS client site with occasional travel to our Warehouse in Sterling, VA. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs financial analysis and reporting associated with business operations for a major program.
  • Responsible for various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Collects and reviews financial data from various sources.
  • Creates, maintains, and updates financial databases and spreadsheets, and generates various financial reports as required.
  • Analyzes assigned contracts’ projected staff hours, contract totals, revenues, and profit totals.
  • Maintains appropriate records and documentation.
  • Supports assigned managers in managing, tracking, monitoring, and reporting financial data as requested.
  • Participates in the preparation of cost proposals.
  • Conducts audits and analysis of their organization’s direct and indirect costs, and reviews their practices and procedures, ensuring that labor and non-labor charges are approved, allowable, and processed in a timely manner.
  • May have risk identification and recovery responsibilities.
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as DAR, FAR, SOX and other government regulations.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in special projects as required. 

Job Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain an interim Secret clearance prior to hire date is required
  • 2-5 years of related finance or business analysis experience is required
  • Forecasting skills with the ability to understand the impact of business decisions on P&L
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (v-lookups and pivot tables); ability to analyze, interpret, and compile information from a variety of sources
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail
  • Able to function independently and consistently meet deadlines with little management guidance
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication
  • Strong problem solving abilities with a customer service focus
  • Understanding of CAS and FAR regulations with the ability to decide appropriate action for routine contractual and financial reporting based on interpretation of FAR and CAS.
  • Understanding of accounts receivable and collection cycles with the ability to exercise cash management techniques 
  • Familiarity with Hyperion/ESSBASE/SmartView/Oracle
