Job Description

Responsible for Maintaining, Coordinating, and Managing Installation of JSP offered services for all outside plant including 100 or more Manholes and 100 or more Handholes, and the OSP related facilities in the NCR under Government oversight. Responsible for follow existing BICSI and JSP Outside Plant standards, when required provide standards and engineering installation plan (EIP) instructions required for the installation of outside cable plant. OSP Registered Communications Distribution Designers (RCDD) will be responsible to support pentagon reservation’s MH and HH maintenance, OSP feasibility studies coordination with or by other agencies with JSP Government oversight.

  • Conducts moderately complex research, design, development and testing of information processing hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems and electrical components.
  • Designs new products and/or modifies existing products.
  • Develops technical specifications for production.
  • Analyzes hardware configuration and processing solutions.
  • Tests hardware performance to specifications.
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced hardware engineers and may have supervisory responsibilities.
  • Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Job Requirements

  • 8-10 years of related hardware engineering experience.
  • Must be well versed in BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years developing layout and design for technology systems including voice, data, and structured cabling.
  • Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, industry standards and other applicable codes related to the design and layout of IT, low voltage and telecommunications systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems from an installation and basic design perspective.
  • Requires a minimum of Secret clearance
