Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented candidate with a focus in Geospatial-Intelligence (GEOINT) Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in support of the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Operations Directorate at Headquarters United States Air Force (USAF), The Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

Key responsibilities will include:

Support development and implementation of intelligence policy and guidance; Providing GEOINT SME input for planning, programming, and budgeting oversight; Policy and functional guidance; and supporting the development of responses to Congressional, Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD), Director of National Intelligence, Joint, and AF Major Command staffs.

Further, this position requires driving modernization and integration of new technology across DoD/IC programs, organizations, and capabilities; engaging across the DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) to enable AF ISR missions and capabilities in support of senior leaders, national decision makers, and warfighters; and supporting the oversight of the USAF Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) Enterprise and the Extended Tether Program (ETP) modernization plans, system integration, and roadmaps.

Specific GEOINT processing SME support include but are not limited to knowledge of the GEOINT processing techniques, data analytics, data visualization, remote ground station operations, multi-source intelligence analysis/fusing, cloud computing environments, and AF DCGS program requirements.  The SME will also prepare and coordinate staff packages, conduct data collection and analysis, and advise the customer on USAF High Altitude ISR operations.  Understanding of the Defense Acquisition System (DAS), the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), and the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) processes are preferable.

Specifically, the candidate will support the day-to-day operations of the Sense, Identify,  Attribute, and Share (SIAS) Director, ETP and AF DCGS Functional leads, and Program Element Monitors by providing oversight, staff augmentation/support, strategy development, and status reports to the Air Force Corporate Structure, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (OUSD(I)), and other stakeholders.  The candidate advises on SIAS and AF DCGS resources, coordinates with external organizations, and advocates program policy/guidance.  Coordinates policy positions with Air Staff, Joint Staff, OUSD(I), and other Intelligence Community organizations.  Work week will be 40 hours. Some travel is required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in an engineering, scientific, or related discipline with a minimum of 15 years of related professional level experience or a minimum of 17 years equivalent education or experience.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and re-prioritize work in a fast paced environment
  • Highly professional interpersonal relationship skills, able to communicate effectively up, down and laterally within the DoD chain of command, external agencies and stakeholders
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required and must meet eligibility requirements for Special Access Program access.
