Job Description

GDIT is hiring a Surveillence Analyst in support of the Defense & Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) located at their HQ in Silver Spring, MD. As the traumatic brain injury (TBI) Pathway of Care manager within the Military Health System (MHS), the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) promotes state-of-the-science care from point-of-injury to reintegration for service members, veterans, and their families to prevent and mitigate consequences of mild to severe TBI.

The  Surveillance Analyst will, under the oversight of the government, administer the DVBIC program for Traumatic Brain Injurt (TBI) surveillance (describing incidence and prevalence of TBI in the military) in order to better define the scope of TBI in the military. S/he will facilitate the collection of quality data from various agencies and generate reports and briefings accordingly.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides analytical support for the DVBIC program for TBI surveillance.
  • Facilitates the collection of quality data from various agencies.
  • Coordinates meetings as needed, with the Service POCs and other agencies for TBI surveillance.
  • Under the guidance of HQ DVBIC, assists in the preparation of surveillance requests from Health Affairs and other surveillance related request.
  • Independently generates reports and briefings as requested by leadership.
  • May supervise support staff.

Job Requirements

  • 8+ of revelant expereince.
  • 4+ years ofwork in a research or healthcare environment.
  • Prior experience within the DoD/VA systems of care strongly preferred.
    Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, SPSS, SAS or any statistical package, perform statistical analyses, database management, communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Knowledge of epidemiology and medical terminology preferred.
  • S/he must adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy. 
  • Based on contract requirements must be a US citizen with the ability to obtaing a T3 security investigation.
