Job Description

Designs and develops information processing hardware, computer systems and electrical components.

Configures, deploys, tests and repairs hardware for end-user use including CPUs, monitors, laptop computers, local printers, network printers, local and network scanners, and other peripheral devices.

Researches and evaluates hardware and peripheral devices for use in the End User Computing (EUC) environment. Recommends purchases and advises management on upgrade/integration strategy

Manages projects involving deployment of new hardware to the existing or additional customer base.

Exercises control over the project activities and the project resources drawn from such technical specialties as Information Assurance, systems administration, application development and environment management.

Follows Information Assurance (IA) procedures covered by enterprise policies to ensure existing systems (HW/SW) are reliable and accessible to the end user only to prevent and guard against unauthorized access to DSCA network and data.

Diagnoses and resolves complex problems (Tier 1/2 Help Desk tickets) involving SC Mission Systems and Application, IT hardware anywhere the user may be located on or off the installation.

Coordinates incident reporting and resolution with the subject-matter experts in other departments as well as interfacing with other Help Desks and vendor technical support.

Maintains knowledge of IT products, equipment and software available in the environment as well as products from current industry trends in order to match to user requirements.

Monitors and reports on customer feedback regarding service, application support, new software or hardware deployed in the environment.

Certification requirement: Security+ CE or higher.

Clearance requirement: Secret
