Job Description

We are currently seeking an IT Systems Engineer to add to our team to support. This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in implementing and maintaining a number of networks with varying needs and levels of complexity, to include user facing networks and a multiple DEV/TEST lab environment. The ideal candidate will have prior systems or network administration experience, and be able work effectively with a team.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Help plan, implement and maintain the IT infrastructure and systems for multiple networks
  • Perform the implementation, configuration, and administrations of:
    • Windows Server
    • RedHat/Centos Linux servers
    • Microsoft Exchange
    • SQL
    • VMware products
    • VPN
    • Citrix
    • Security Appliances
    • Cisco and Juniper routers and switches
    • Common business applications
  • Perform remote and on-site support for IT
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to build necessary lab environments supporting Windows, Linux, Citrix, VMware, AWS, Cisco and Avaya systems
  • Exercises independent judgement and decision making.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.


5+ years of related network and systems administration experience.

Candidate must possess an appropriate and current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment; either valid CompTIA Security+ CE, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)-Security. CompTIA Security+ CE Certification is the preferred certification. In addition, candidate must attain the required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Training within six (6) months of Hire Date.

Candidates are expected to have knowledge or experience in a combination of the following tools:

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to document solutions and processes
  • Ability to effectively work on a team
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve
  • Able to multi-task and handle multiple issues and projects
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies and a willingness to learn:
    • Windows server operating systems – Windows Server 2012, 2016
    • VMware vSphere 5.5 or newer, - NSX, or vRealize experience a bonus
    • Storage – SAN and NAS infrastructure
  • Basic understanding of firewall operations
  • Demonstrated skill at troubleshooting and resolving issues
  • Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory
  • Data Center operations (servers, rack management, cabling, etc.)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies:
    • Cisco or Juniper switching and routing
    • Citrix VDI and Application Virtualization
    • Linux Server Administration(RHEL, CENTOS)
  • Scripting experience – Powershell, shell, python, ansible
  • Azure or AWS Experience
  • Experience with Exchange, Jabber, Cisco UC
  • Related Industry certifications – MCSA/MCSE, CCNA/CCNP, RHCSA, VCA/VCP,
