Job Description

The Senior Technologist analyzes user requirements, conducts technical research, develops recommendations, and facilitates the migration of cyberspace, sea, air, land, maritime, interagency, and coalition data and information (IT) services to web-enabled/cloud-based environments to resolve data sharing issues and increase interoperability for the warfighter in support of the Joint Staff, J6 Deputy Director, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Cyber Integration (DDC5I) Data Services Division (DSD) mission.

General Duties:

  • Perform technical and analysis functions to identify, assess, and resolve joint warfighter, interagency, and coalition information sharing, data, and IT service interoperability requirements, gaps, and capabilities.
  • Use data and software technologies and knowledge of industry-based standards and solutions to research, develop, identify, and infuse emerging methodologies and technologies into DoD Data and Services Sharing Policies (DD SSP).
  • Utilize data and software technologies to provide data tagging solutions to support warfighter, DoD, interagency, and coalition data and IT services interoperability and integration.
  • Occasionally travel in support of stakeholder collaboration or technical demonstrations.

Preferred Skills (one or several of the following):

  • Knowledge of the theoretical foundations and practical implementation experience with DoD policies for data, service, and information sharing strategies, information technology, and computer science technologies.
  • Knowledge of concepts, principles, and techniques to advance data and service integration and interoperability.
  • Knowledge and use of advanced methods and techniques to solve complex IT and data requirements.
  • Expertise/experience with interface software development to include Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) development.
  • Experience in scrum product management and agile release processes.
  • Experience with web-based technologies to include Google Drive and GitHub.
  • Coding experience with Oracle, SQL Server, HTML, eXtensible Markup Language (XML), and XML technologies, to include National Information Exchange Framework (NIEM), Java, ontologies, and taxonomies.
  • Excellent verbal presentation and writing skills to articulate operational cyber and identity management data sharing and interoperability requirements, gaps, and solutions.

Job Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen

Possess a Secret clearance (Top Secret with SCI eligibility preferred)

10-15 years of related experience.
