The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) mission is to preserve and promote public confidence in the U.S. financial systems by insuring deposits in banks and thrift institutions for up to $250,000; by identifying, monitoring, and addressing risks to the deposit insurance funds; and by limiting the effect on the account and the financial system when a bank or thrift institution fails. GDIT provides the day-to-day operational services to FDIC in support of infrastructure, facilities, hardware, software, and systems. GDIT supports operational security, client support/help desk, data center operations, asset management, and systems engineering service areas. 

GDIT seeks a Software Asset Management Associate.­­­­­­­­­­ U.S. Citizenship and background investigation is required; you must have a current clean financial background.  Successful candidate must possess and be able to demonstrate technical skills and engineering attitude for success, dedication and commitment.

Task and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • The Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst will be involved in the managing, tracking, utilization, and reporting of software assets throughout the agency.  The SAM Analyst will also be involved in analyzing trends in order to provide recommendations of best practices and warn of potential risks to the agency.
  • Ensure compliance by comparing current counts of deployed software against entitlements.
  • Conduct and report asset reconciliation and reporting
  • Create client facing documentation and reporting to help in managing risk and compliance throughout the agency
  • Manage day to day requests from end-users to fulfill software licensing needs and answer queries
  • Assist in providing status updates to stakeholders within contracted Service Level Agreements (SLA) on progress of current investigations and projects
  • Respond to requests from Technical Point of Contacts (TPOCs), end users, Oversight Managers (OM), and various other team members for specific IT Software Asset Management information
  • Process and maintain software licensing documentation as a part of the IT Asset Management (ITAM) program
  • Ensure that ITAM collects and maintains accurate Software Licensing information in repositories to address software compliance and inventory
  • Stay informed of new and updated software license models and options for key vendor products
  • Work with ITAM team members to develop processes and procedures to automate the collection, storage and reporting of key software data so that the products can be managed across the enterprise in an effective manner including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI)
  • Monitor software usage to reduce risk of noncompliance
  • Coordinate with Procurement for the receiving of all Software Assets.
  • Maintain the media library (digital and physical) of all SW assets.
  • Responsible for the creation and distribution of all software related deliverables, KPIs, and OPIs and other contractionary obligated reports

To qualify, you must meet these basic qualifications: 

  • Experience with Software licensing, EULAs
  • Understand purchasing and license information, which will need to be deciphered and enter into IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) systems
  • Strong licensing knowledge of ant of the following software vendors: Microsoft, Oracle, Symantec, IBM, VMware or SAP
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Adept in use of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail
  • Experience with Service Now
  • Great communication Skill (Listening, Verbal, Written)

Experience with Software Asset Management systems

IAITAM, CSAM orCHAMP Certifications

ITIL v3 Certification
