Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Database Analyst who will:

employ complex data analytics tools, develop and oversee software programs to collect information from Agency computer networks, and conduct data analysis to identify anomalies and support counterintelligence, security, administrative, and criminal investigations. They develop software programs to support User Activity Monitoring (UAM) efforts on NGA networks, utilize complex tools and mathematical algorithms to develop data analytics tools (i.e. Risk 360), and conduct analysis of information to identify unusual patterns and other indications of insider threat activity. They assimilate, evaluate and interpret all-source information involving counterintelligence threats, security issues, computer misuse, and personnel misconduct to identify threats against NGA personnel, programs, information systems and/or facilities.

Experience with analytical problem solving and familiar with conducting operations relating to insider threat, counterintelligence investigations, and counterespionage. Familiar with data analytics tools used for Insider Threat information collection on computer networks or knowledge of other Insider Threat risk scoring data analytics tools / programs. In-depth knowledge of Intelligence regulations and Intelligence oversight principles and understanding of geospatial-intelligence products, capabilities, and missions. Must possess superior writing and briefing skills and publish finished analysis.  Experience leading development and maintenance of databases and/or database applications. Experience maintaining database dictionaries and integration of systems through database design. Experience developing, modifying or configuring moderately complex software applications from detailed specifications.

  1. Investigates suspected instances of waste, fraud, and abuse; data spills; and, network penetrations of the customer’s information systems;
  2. Investigates and eradicates computer viruses and malicious code;
  3. Provides computer incident and violation response support, and cyber security awareness and training;
  4. Participates in technical meetings and working groups to address issues related to computer security, protection against malware and other vulnerabilities;
  5. Assists in the development and delivery of malware security awareness products and briefings; and
  6. Collaborates with the customer, team members, computer security investigators, forensic analysts, and other internal and external organizations.
  7. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  8. Participates in special projects as required.

Job Requirements

5 - 8 years of related database analysis and/or administration experience.

  • Experience with analytical problem solving and familiar with conducting security investigations and operations relating to suspected incidents;
  • In-depth working knowledge of DoD intelligence regulations and familiar with intelligence oversight principles;
  • Superior writing and briefing skills and publish finished analysis;
  • Level of knowledge and experience with information technology, information systems and other technical disciplines, which allows for successful completion of all assigned duties and responsibilities.
Credentialed from a recognized counterintelligence training school or formal analysis training program is desired.
