Job Description

Serve as Drafter CAD Operator III providing Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dam Neck Activity (NSWCDD-DNA) with contractor support for Combat Systems that range from unit level combat systems such as Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), Advanced Combat Direction System (ACDS), and AEGIS, to operational level Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Cyber security, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C6ISR).

Prepares and maintains blueprints, maps, charts, graphs, and other technical drawings.

1. Prepares detailed drawings of mechanical and electronic components, assemblies, and engineering change orders.

2. Prepares drawings from detailed notes and specifications.

3. May recommend modifications and changes for design improvement and simplification.

4. Verifies completed work and checks dimensions, materials to be used, and quantities.

5. May use a PC or CAD workstation.

6. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced drafters.

7. Maintains current knowledge of relevant tools and equipment as assigned.

8. Participates in special projects as required.

Specific Requirements:

- Two (5) years professional experience preparing complete sets of complex drawings

- Two (2) years must have been full-time experience at the system level.

- For purposes of this procurement, Computer Program Management, Computer Program Documentation and Fleet Support Experience refers to experience with developmental or operational Systems, Computer Program versions in effect in the past seven (7) years.

- It is preferred that this experience have been gained with real time Naval tactical and related support computer programs..

Job Requirements

3-5 years of related drafting experience.
