Job Description

Researches, designs, develops and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.

Tysons - Core Hours; Hands-on AWS experience in our Customer environment. Hands-on experience developing web applications in Java or C#. Ideally full-stack development experience. Level has downward flexibility in terms of years of experience.


Required: 
-Demonstrated experience working with AWS in our Customer environment
-Demonstrated experience developing web applications in Java or C#
-Experience with server-side solutions such as Apache Tomcat, Glassfish, IIS, or WebLogic
-Experience with back-end solutions such as Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL
-Experience with web technologies such as JavaScript, JQuery, RESTful interfaces, or HTML
-Experience working within the Agile framework to complete full life-cycle development
-Willing to learn new skills
Desired: 
-Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Ant, Maven, Chef, Puppet, Python, etc.
-Experience with open source products and tools
-Experience developing solutions using Ruby on Rails or Node.js
-Experience translating requirements in application functionality
-Experience working with interfaces between multiple applications and multiple data repositories
-Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills

1. Designs and codes software components, units, and modules that meet product specifications and development schedules. 

2. Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.

3. Tests and debugs assigned components and units.

4. Participates in large system and subsystem planning.

5. Collaborates with hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems and works with them to resolve incompatibilities.

6. Writes and updates technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.

7. Troubleshoots problems and provides customer support for software operating systems and application issues.

8. Advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.

9. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

10. Participates in special projects as required.

Job Requirements

5-8 years of related software development experience.
