Job Description

Support the Battle Control System - Fixed (BCS-F) weapon system software sustainment team in all facets of BCS-F operational capability with software/system sustainment. Conduct software development and testing for various applications in a DevOps environment in accordance with CMMI, AS9100 and the Air Force's "Art of the Possible."

  1. Designs and codes BCS-F software components, units, and modules that meet product specifications and development schedule.
  2. Work independently and with a small team to develop and maintain code for new software applications and capabilities, as well as system updates, enhancements, systems modeling, simulation, analysis and enhancements.

  3. Address system requirements through the development of software-level requirements, design, and code.

  4. Design, develop, evaluate, and maintain software design documentation as-needed.

  5. Coordinate with Systems Engineering, Training and Test teams, through a variety of processes, to ensure that software meets end-user and sponsor requirements.

  6. Provide troubleshooting expertise and drive resolution for all issues in Developer and Test environments, and other environments on an as-needed basis

  7. Collaborates with hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems and works with them to resolve incompatibilities.
  8. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  9. Participates in special projects as required.

Job Requirements

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • 5-8 years of related software development experience.
  • Experience with C ,C++, and Java
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle including gathering requirements, software design, implementation, documentation, configuration management, test and support.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong organizational skills, understanding of process development and execution, and execution to a schedule. 
  • Experience with ADA programming language.
  • Experience using scripting and analysis tools: Bash, Python, and/or Perl.
