Job Description

1) A thorough working knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server 2016, 2012, Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, Exchange and higher, IIS 6.0 and 7.0, Remote Desktops Servers, and other Windows Server roles and technologies commonly used at an enterprise.

2) Server Engineering and Management: Setup, install, configure, administer, maintain, monitor and support physical and virtual servers including Windows 2003/2008/2012, some Linux, and other Server Applications products on a heavy VMware ESXi environment.

3) Server Application Management: Administration of server bound applications such as IIS, Active Directory, Exchange, VMware, SharePoint, etc.

4) Follow and enforce IT standards, DoD STIG compliance and best practices to ensure a high-degree of user satisfaction, high systems availability and cyber defense

5) In depth experience in the administration, monitoring and maintenance of VMWare technologies such as EXSi, vCenter, vMotion, HA, RDS, vRealize.

6) Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all supported computer systems and updates for each system change

7) Engineering experience in centralized logging server aggregating logs and other monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, and Splunk, etc.

8) Problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusion to respond to common inquiries or escalations from other IT units.

9)Storage: Engineer and administer SAN/NAS technologies

10) Assist in the planning and execution of network and server technology migrations.

11) Work independently with very little supervision while providing clear documented activities

12) Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems.

13) Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.

14) Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients.

15) Plans and directs upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements.

16) Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

17) Participates in special projects as required.

Job Requirements

1. 8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.

2. Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques.

3. Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.

4. Professional certification in one or more specific technologies may be required, depending on job assignment.
