General Dynamics Federal Health Sector is actively seeking a Scientist Expert to help design and conduct statistical analyses in a large, complex health research environment.   1. Initiating and executing scientific research and/or development studies.
  2. Analyzing problems and applying theoretical techniques to develop solutions
  3. Working with senior researchers on mixed-methods projects requiring quantitative and qualitative data collection and/or analysis, including developing study designs, determining analysis methodology, and outlining format and content of client deliverables.
  4. Conducting research that applies rigorous and impartial data collection, analysis, and reporting using quantitative and/or qualitative techniques.
  5. Working with large administrative data sets within a secure analytic data environment.
  6. Interpreting and summarizing quantitative and qualitative findings in reports and presentations to address clients research needs.
  7. Collaborating with, and/or leading projects with external stakeholders.
  8. Working closely with a research team to ensure that project activities are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  9. Helping to develop proposals for new business opportunities.
  10. Engaging in continual innovation to improve quality and efficiency of all deliverables.
  11. May include management and supervision of project teams including staff, consultants, subcontractors and collaborators.
  12. Gathers, analyzes, and interprets a wide variety of data
  • Ph.D. or equivalent in public health, epidemiology, public policy, economics, health services research, social sciences, or other relevant discipline.
  • 15+ years of professional experience related work experience in federal contracting and health care research/policy or 10+ years of related experience and additional education
  • Possess working knowledge or experience of programs of the agencies of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Strong foundation in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, including experience with advanced statistical modeling, and a broad understanding of health research and health policy issues
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced programming experience in a statistical software package
