Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Technical Writer  to join our team supporting the a team with a newly developed solution being prototyped for our Department of Commerce customerin the Washington DC area.The Technical Writer will creates and manage technical copy for various operation and maintenance manuals and prepare related technical documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Researches and compiles technical data for use in various operation and maintenance manuals, training materials, installation guides, and other technical documentation.
  • Write technical copy for technical and user documentation and maintenance manuals.
  • Ensures documents prepared by subordinates meet editorial and customer specifications and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style.
  • Research, prepare and edit complex technical documents for publication, including user’s manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.
  • Provides guidance and serves as the integrator for all technical documentation and deliverables.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Creation of proposals and multi-media presentation materials.
  • Design and development of marketing brochures, conference programs, public relations announcements, and other materials when requested.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
